Superhero Christmas Stockings

Well this year the boys thought it was time to get new Christmas stockings and by get I mean Mom needed to make them. They didn't tell me what they wanted just kept asking when our new stocking were going to be ready. I still have no idea where this idea of new stockings came from but  I delivered and I delivered BIG!!! We are a big time superhero family I have made superhero quilts we have had superhero birthdays and if I could find all I want I would redo my kitchen in superheroes. So when I was given the chance to go with some girls and have a sewing day away from home I thought NEW CHRISTMAS STOCKINGS!! I pulled out all my Christmas fabric and didn't like it for stockings. Then I thought I have leftover superhero fabric. I told the boys and hubby to pick a fabric without telling them what it was for. This is what we ended up with. . . All for One

Naming a quilt is sometimes hard to do and other times it comes easily. The last quilt I made was a king and since I always referred to it as "The King," it stuck. This one has been harder to name; it is beautiful and fun to make, but the backstory is where the name comes from.  Jessica and I were shopping for fabric for her daughter's Christmas stocking, and came across the beautiful fan fabric that I used in the big blocks. There was only a yard and a half available, but she had to have a quilt made out of it. I spent the next 4 moths looking for it and pieces to go with it. Finally the new line came out and it still matched the old line, and we have a quilt. So since this quilt came to be, all because of one piece of fabric its name will be, "All for One."

Asian Big EZ Quilt

Working on this beauty for a client. The pattern I used is called the Big EZ . I just love the Japanese fabric Jessica picked out. I added the kimono applique that I used on the Geisha quilt to the corner blocks. You can find the appliques here .

Birch Bark Quilts

In March I finally got the girls so try a quilt. Tamara and I made the Japanese quilts last year but this was Lana's first quilt and we made the top in one night. You can find the pattern we used here . We opted to take out all the little strips and still had enough to make the quilt. These went together very nicely however at times we felt like we would never reach the end. These are off at the quilters and when we get them back I will post pictures.

Meet the sewing Trio.

Meet the sewing trio. This is my BFF Lana, me, and my wonderful neighbor Tamara. We have been getting together every week for a few months now. Last week we made aprons together and they turned out amazing. You can find the pattern we used here . Lana made another apron for her mom this week. They are so fun!

King Quilt
