OKINAWA QUILT

So it has been a while and I now live on the beautiful island of Okinawa, Japan.
I have been blessed with some amazing friends here and this year for Christmas I made us all quilts since we had our gift exchange today I can now post pictures of our awesome quilts. We will all be able to look at these and remember the times we had on this wonderful island. My friend Marisa will be leaving us soon to go back to the states so I really wanted to give her a good going away gift but fell in love with it and had to make one for our friend Lana and myself as well.

In March I finally got the girls so try a quilt. Tamara and I made the Japanese quilts last year but this was Lana's first quilt and we made the top in one night. You can find the pattern we used here . We opted to take out all the little strips and still had enough to make the quilt. These went together very nicely however at times we felt like we would never reach the end. These are off at the quilters and when we get them back I will post pictures.

Meet the sewing trio. This is my BFF Lana, me, and my wonderful neighbor Tamara. We have been getting together every week for a few months now. Last week we made aprons together and they turned out amazing. You can find the pattern we used here . Lana made another apron for her mom this week. They are so fun!
